Booking terms
and conditions
Last updated 16 October 2026
These are the terms on which you book a stay with us. Please read them before you book — when we confirm your booking, you are agreeing to them.
1Who you are booking with
Logs & Lanterns is a trading name of Lumiere Lets LLP, a limited liability partnership registered in England and Wales under number OC458750, whose registered office is Roman Lodge Farm, Lansdown, Bath, England, BA1 9BJ.
In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean Lumiere Lets LLP. "You" means the person making the booking. You must be 18 or over to book, and you are responsible for everyone in your party.
You can contact us at lumierelets@gmail.com.
2Making a booking
When you book, you are making an offer to us. There is no contract between us until we send you a written booking confirmation by email. If we cannot accept your booking we will tell you and refund anything you have paid.
Please check your confirmation as soon as you receive it and tell us straight away if anything on it is wrong.
3Prices and payment
- A deposit of 25% of the total is payable when you book.
- The balance is due 14 days before your arrival. For bookings made within 14 days of arrival, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.
- If the balance is not paid by the due date we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, and the cancellation charges in section 4 will apply.
Prices include VAT where it applies. Extras such as the hot tub being lit or sauna time may be charged separately, and we will tell you the price before you commit to them.
4If you cancel or change
Tell us in writing as soon as you can. The date we receive your email is the date of cancellation. Our charges are:
- More than 28 days before arrival — you lose your deposit.
- 14 to 28 days before arrival — 50% of the total is payable.
- Less than 14 days before arrival — the full amount is payable.
If we are able to re-let your dates we will refund what we recover, less a £25 administration charge. We strongly recommend taking out travel insurance that covers cancellation.
We will do our best to accommodate a change of dates, but we are not obliged to, and a change is at our discretion.
5If we cancel or change
We would only cancel your booking in circumstances outside our reasonable control — for example severe weather, flooding, fire, damage to the accommodation, loss of utilities, or anything else that makes the site unsafe or unusable. If that happens we will offer you alternative dates where we can, or a full refund of everything you have paid.
Beyond that refund we will not be liable for other costs you have incurred, such as travel or time off work. This does not affect your legal rights where we are at fault.
6Arriving and leaving
You can arrive from 3pm on the day your stay starts, and we ask you to leave by 11am on the day it ends. Please tell us if you expect to arrive after dark so we can make sure you can find us and get in.
Directions and the gate code are sent with your booking. Please do not pass them on.
7Who may stay
Only the people named on your booking may stay in the accommodation. The maximum number of people is stated on your confirmation and must not be exceeded — this is a condition of our insurance and of our licence, and we may ask anyone over that number to leave without a refund.
Visitors who are not staying overnight must be agreed with us in advance.
8Fires, stoves, hot tubs and the sauna
This is a site built around open flame and hot water. Please take it seriously.
- Use the wood burner, fire pit, hot tub and sauna strictly in accordance with the instructions we give you on arrival and the notices displayed at each one.
- Never leave a fire, a stove or a lit hot tub unattended, and never go to sleep with a fire burning in the open.
- Burn only the wood we supply. Do not burn rubbish, treated timber, accelerants or anything brought onto the site.
- Do not move, modify or tamper with any stove, flue, heater, hot tub or sauna.
- Do not block, cover or remove a carbon monoxide alarm, a smoke alarm or a fire extinguisher. Tell us immediately if one sounds or appears faulty.
- Do not use the hot tub or sauna if you are pregnant, under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or if you have a heart condition, high or low blood pressure or any other condition that heat could make worse. If you are in any doubt, speak to your doctor first.
- No glass in or around the hot tub or sauna.
- Anyone under 18 must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times at the fire pit, the hot tub and the sauna.
You use these facilities at your own risk, and you are responsible for the safety of everyone in your party. Nothing in this section limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
9Looking after the place
Please treat the accommodation and the site as you would your own. In particular:
- No smoking or vaping inside any tent, lodge, the sauna or any other structure.
- Keep noise down between 10pm and 8am. Sound carries a long way out here and other guests are close.
- Park only where we show you, and drive at walking pace on the site.
- Take your litter to the bins provided and leave the accommodation in a reasonable state.
- This is a working rural setting with uneven ground, unlit paths, standing water, livestock and farm traffic. Wear sensible footwear, bring a torch, and keep to the marked routes.
We may ask you and your party to leave immediately, without a refund, if you behave in a way that is unsafe, unlawful, or that causes a serious nuisance to us, our neighbours or other guests.
10Damage and loss
You are responsible for any damage or loss you or your party cause beyond fair wear and tear, and we may charge you the reasonable cost of putting it right. Please tell us about breakages while you are here rather than leaving us to find them — accidents happen and we would much rather know.
Your own belongings and vehicles are your responsibility. We cannot accept liability for anything lost, damaged or stolen on the site unless it results from our negligence.
11Our responsibility to you
If we fail to meet these terms we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of that failure. We are not responsible for loss or damage that is not foreseeable.
We do not exclude or limit our liability in any way where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and for breach of your legal rights in relation to the services we supply.
We are not liable for any business loss. We supply our accommodation for private and domestic use only.
12Complaints
If something is not right, please tell us while you are still here — almost everything can be sorted out on the spot, and we cannot put right what we do not know about. If it is not resolved, write to us at lumierelets@gmail.com within 28 days of leaving and we will respond.
13Your information
We handle your personal information as described in our privacy policy.
14General
We may update these terms from time to time. The terms that apply to your stay are the ones published when you booked.
If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful, the rest continues to apply. If we delay in enforcing a term, that does not prevent us enforcing it later.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your own country.
